Key ResponsibilitiesStore Level Financial Performance
- Analyze store, district, and regional pharmacy P&L performance
- Monitor key store level metrics including: o Prescription volume and mix
- Gross margin and reimbursement trends oLabor hours, productivity, and overtime
- Inventory levels, turns, shrink, and waste
- Identify under and over performing stores and quantify drivers of variance
- Prepare weekly and monthly store level performance dashboards
- Deliver actionable insights for pharmacy district leaders, regional leaders, and operations teams
- Translate financial data into clear, operational recommendations
- Support cadence reporting tied to operational reviews and performance calls
- Analyze pharmacist and technician staffing models
- Monitor labor utilization, productivity benchmarks, and cost trends
- Support labor planning, budget compliance, and overtime reduction initiatives
- Evaluate financial impact of workflow changes, scheduling models, and automation
- Analyze inventory investment, stocking levels, and turns by store
- Identify margin opportunities related to generic utilization, purchasing programs, and purchasing behaviors
- Monitor shrink and obsolescence trends and support loss prevention initiatives
- Quantify financial impact of drug cost changes and supply chain disruptions at the store level
- Support annual budgets and rolling forecasts with store level detail
- Forecast prescription volume, labor needs, and inventory requirements by market
- Model the financial impact of operational initiatives and changes in store execution
- Partner with pharmacy operations, field leadership, supply chain, and merchandising teams
- Provide financial support for: o New store openings and pharmacy remodels
- Operational pilots and initiatives oService expansions (immunizations, clinical services, adherence programs)
- Support post implementation performance tracking and ROI measurement
- Enhance store reporting accuracy, timeliness, and usability
- Support internal controls and audit requests related to pharmacy operations
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and improve decision support
- Partner with accounting team to ensure a timely accurate financial close process
- Assist with monthend close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and relevant healthcare regulations
- Support physical inventory counts at pharmacy locations to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Reconcile inventory counts to financial records and investigate discrepancies
- Assist with financial due diligence and integration activities related to pharmacy acquisitions
- Support inventory valuation and cost analysis, including drug cost trends and shrinkage
- Perform targeted analyses for leadership on store specific issues or opportunities
- Prepare executive summaries and presentations with a strong operational narrative
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- 13 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably supporting retail or multi site operations
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to store execution details
- Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas)
- Experience working with large, multi location data sets
- Ability to communicate effectively with both corporate and field leaders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in retail pharmacy, healthcare, or multi unit retail operations
- Understanding of pharmacy operations, store workflows, and reimbursement fundamentals
- Experience with FP&A or operational finance
- Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
