Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and develop individualized care plans.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions across various specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, emergency medicine, and behavioral health.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, dermal fillers, botulinum toxin treatments, and perform suturing with precision and adherence to sterile techniques.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical records, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and billing procedures.
- Provide patient education on health coaching, medication management, nutrition, and disease prevention strategies.
- Assist in diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing, sonography, spinal taps, and medical imaging procedures.
- Support telehealth consultations and triage services to ensure timely access to care for patients across outpatient and inpatient settings.
Requirements
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Proven experience in medical office settings with familiarity in medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and utilization review processes.
- Critical care experience preferred; including ICU or Level I/II trauma center exposure with skills in airway management and ventilator support.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; telehealth experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology (including psychopharmacology), infection control protocols, and sterile processing techniques.
- Ability to perform procedures such as venipuncture, catheterization, tube feeding management, dermal fillers administration, spinal taps, and suturing.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatric (pediatrics), geriatric (geriatrics), hospice & palliative medicine patients or individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs.
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate communication; ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams across hospital medicine, outpatient clinics or home care environments.
