Duties
- Greet customers warmly, take accurate food and beverage orders, and provide exceptional customer service throughout their visit
- Operate POS systems such as Square to process orders, payments, and refunds swiftly and accurately
- Prepare simple food items or assist in food preparation to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Handle cash transactions with precision, including cash handling, giving correct change, and balancing registers at shift end
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, cleaning workstations, and adhering to food safety protocols
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales through friendly recommendations
- Support kitchen staff with basic food handling tasks when needed to ensure efficient service flow
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or quick service & fast food restaurant environments
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and order calculations
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting while managing time efficiently
- Experience with serving, bussing tables, or working in a café or retail grocery store is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude that fosters collaboration
