Decorative and Flatwork Concrete Finishing Technician

If you thrive on precision, timing, and craftsmanship, this role is for you. As our Decorative and Flatwork Concrete Finishing Technician, you’ll transform plans into durable, attractive surfaces across residential and commercial flatwork.

• Can you set grade and slope so water moves exactly where it should?
• Do you shift effortlessly from screeding to bull floating to troweling as the concrete sets?
• Are broom, steel trowel, hard‑trowel, exposed aggregate, and stamped finishes all in your toolkit?
• Do you collaborate well with form setters and ready‑mix suppliers to nail timing, slump, and sequencing?

• Site prep: clean, stage, and confirm alignment, elevation, and level before placement.
• Placement: mix, pour, place, and spread concrete to spec for slabs, sidewalks, driveways, curbs, aprons, and related flatwork.
• Finishing: use screeds, bull floats, hand trowels, edgers, jointers, and walk‑behind/ride‑on trowels to achieve specified textures.
• Finishes: deliver broomed, steel troweled, hard‑troweled, exposed aggregate, and stamped surfaces per plans.
• Control: set and verify grades, pitch, and tolerances; read and follow pour plans and technical drawings.
• Protection: apply curing methods, sealers, hardeners, and surface treatments as required.
• Corrections: perform saw cutting, patching, and repairs; resolve cold joints, edges, and imperfections.
• Quality: inspect finished work and adjust to meet standards.
• Safety & care: maintain tools/equipment and a clean, safe jobsite; follow all safety protocols.
• Teamwork: collaborate toward schedules and milestones; mentor apprentices and laborers.

• Demonstrated experience as a concrete finisher or similar trade.
• Strong command of finishing practices, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, pour plans, and technical drawings.
• Physical endurance to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to craftsmanship.
• Good communication and a cooperative mindset.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
