About the Role
The Employment Specialist is responsible for sourcing, screening, and placing qualified candidates in temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct-hire roles. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask under pressure, and a passion for helping people find meaningful work. You will act as a connector between candidates and employers, ensuring quality placements and building long-term relationships.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, including sourcing, interviewing, onboarding, and placement of candidates.
- Maintain a high-volume candidate pipeline to meet the staffing needs of multiple clients.
- Conduct interviews, skills assessments, and reference checks to ensure candidate qualifications.
- Match candidates to open positions based on skills, experience, and job requirements.
- Partner with business development to understand client needs, job descriptions, and business challenges.
- Provide excellent customer service to candidates throughout the hiring process, ensuring a positive experience.
- Process onboarding documents, compliance paperwork, background checks, and orientation steps accurately and efficiently.
- Track and maintain candidate records within the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to attendance, performance, assignment changes, or payroll concerns.
- Assist with walk-in traffic, job fairs, hiring events, and community outreach efforts.
- Meet or exceed weekly and monthly performance metrics, including placements, retention rates, and recruiting goals.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in staffing, recruiting, HR, or a related fast-paced customer-facing role.
- Strong multitasking ability with excellent organizational skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills—both written and verbal.
- Comfortable working in an environment with shifting priorities and urgent deadlines.
- Proficiency with ATS platforms, job boards, and MS Office (or similar tools).
- Ability to professionally manage difficult conversations and resolve conflicts.
- A self-starter with a customer-first mindset and a positive attitude.
- High level of energy, integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
