Staff Accountant
Position Summary
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support the financial operations of our transportation and trucking company. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations, supporting month-end closing, and assisting with freight, fleet, and operational accounting activities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and freight billing processes.
- Review and reconcile fuel, maintenance, and fleet-related expenses.
- Assist with driver settlements and transportation-related financial reporting.
- Prepare account analyses and assist with budgeting and audits.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Support process improvements and other accounting projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of accounting experience.
- Experience in trucking, transportation, logistics, or a related industry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with accounting and transportation management software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
