Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with case preparation by conducting legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Manage case files using document management systems like iManage and ensure all records are organized and up-to-date.
- Support litigation processes through document review, filing court documents accurately, and maintaining case calendars.
- Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather relevant information for ongoing cases.
- Handle confidential information with integrity while supporting multiple practice areas including personal injury law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and workers' compensation law.
- Provide administrative support such as scheduling meetings, managing deadlines, and assisting with project management tasks to ensure efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven paralegal experience with a strong understanding of procedural law and legal support functions.
- Familiarity with estate planning, environmental law, family law, civil litigation support, and other practice areas listed above.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Word processing, and document review software.
- Experience using case management systems like PCLaw or similar platforms; knowledge of Westlaw and LexisNexis is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong research capabilities combined with exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents and conducting legal research.
- Effective client communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Knowledge of UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), procedural rules, and general & commercial litigation processes is preferred.
