A day in this role- Arrive to review the day’s schedule, gather materials, tools, and prints, and prep work cells for production.
- Assist machinists/operators with machine setup and operation across a variety of shop equipment.
- Perform routine upkeep—cleaning, basic maintenance, and checks—to keep machines at peak performance.
- Stage and organize tools and materials to support smooth production flow.
- Watch gauges, counts, and quality indicators; flag any irregularities to your supervisor immediately.
- Follow safety procedures rigorously while maintaining an orderly, clutter-free work area.
- Join on-the-job and formal training sessions to build your machining knowledge.
- Collaborate with teammates to hit production goals and meet deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in a machine shop or manufacturing setting is a plus.
- Foundational knowledge of machine operations and shop safety.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail with practical problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and remain standing for extended periods.
