Life & Ancillary Product Sales Agent

Position Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Primarily Monday through Friday

Pay Range: $18.00–$21.00 per hour, DOE and qualifications

Additional Compensation: Opportunity to participate in a commission structure as the role and responsibilities develop


Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a values-driven local organization to recruit a motivated and service-oriented Life & Ancillary Product Sales Agent. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building strong relationships, educating clients, and helping individuals and families feel confident about their financial protection decisions.

Position Overview

The Life & Ancillary Product Sales Agent supports individuals and families by offering life insurance and a variety of ancillary products that strengthen long-term financial security. This position combines consultative sales, relationship management, and client education in a professional, people-first environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to understand their financial protection needs.
  2. Present and sell life insurance and ancillary products, including dental, vision, disability, and supplemental coverage.
  3. Educate clients on policy features, coverage options, and long-term value to support informed decision-making.
  4. Generate new business through referrals, networking, community involvement, and outbound prospecting.
  5. Conduct client meetings in person, virtually, or by phone to review coverage and recommend solutions.
  6. Guide clients through applications and underwriting processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  7. Follow up on leads consistently to build trust and long-term client relationships.
  8. Stay current on product offerings, industry trends, and compliance requirements.
  9. Use CRM systems and tracking tools to manage client interactions, sales activity, and documentation with precision.
  10. Participate in marketing events, seminars, and community outreach, including occasional evenings or weekends.
  11. Collaborate with sales, service, and support teams to ensure a seamless and positive client experience.
  12. Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals.
  13. Support increased workload during the Annual Enrollment Period (October–December), including extended hours and additional availability as needed.
  14. Provide cross-functional support to Licensed Client Advocates (LCAs), including assisting Medicare and health insurance clients during peak periods.


Qualifications

  1. Previous sales experience preferred (insurance, financial services, or a related field strongly desired).
  2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust quickly.
  3. Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and driven to achieve results.
  4. Ability to explain complex information clearly and in a client-friendly manner.
  5. Excellent organization and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort working within CRM systems.
  7. Willingness to obtain and maintain required insurance licenses (Life & Health); training available if needed.
  8. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business or a related field is a plus.
