Medical Insurance Biller

A local, family-owned medical practice in Asheville is looking for a warm, outgoing people-person to join their team as an Insurance Biller.

In this role, you'll be the friendly face and steady hand behind the scenes — filing insurance claims, helping patients understand their coverage and co-payments, and making sure billing runs smoothly. You'll also be cross-trained across the office (scheduling, insurance verification, payments, phones, reports, and records) so you truly understand how the whole practice comes together.

Basic computer skills and comfort with Windows applications are a must.

What You'll Do

•Review insurance coverage and file claims based on care provided

•Investigate and resolve denied claims

•Answer incoming calls through the office computer system

•Schedule patient appointments across multiple locations

•Accept and process patient payments

•Prepare reports for the office

•Assist with medical records filing

What You'll Bring

•Background or certification in medical billing/insurance claims preferred

•A caring, patient, and people-first personality

•Strong computer skills — proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working across multiple screens

•Excellent organizational, time-management, and planning skills

•Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills

•A team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment

•Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure

•Ability to walk stairs daily

Schedule is Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. $18/hr-$23/hr DOE.
