Small Engine Mechanic

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Small Engine Mechanic to join our Client's team, dedicated to maintaining and repairing a wide range of small engines and equipment. (Lawnmowers, weed eaters, chain saws, generators, etc.) This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring optimal performance of various machinery. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical expertise, hands-on experience with engine repair, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in small engines and related equipment using schematics and technical manuals.
• Perform repairs on small engines, including tune-ups, part replacements, and complete overhauls.
• Conduct diesel engine repairs when applicable, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to complete repairs effectively.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used for each service.
• Assist customers by explaining repair procedures, providing maintenance advice, and recommending appropriate solutions.
• Conduct routine vehicle maintenance on equipment such as lawn tractors, generators, and other machinery.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems within small engines using electrical experience and schematics.
• Handle heavy lifting safely when moving or installing large or heavy components.
• Support sales efforts by advising customers on equipment features and maintenance needs when appropriate.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a small engine mechanic or in a similar automotive or equipment repair role.
• Dealership experience is highly preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with practical skills in using hand tools, power tools, welding, and soldering equipment.
• Familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting electrical systems within engines and machinery.
• Experience repairing lawn mowers, weed eaters, chain saws, generators, etc.
• Knowledge of maintenance procedures for various types of machinery.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
• Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions.

Pay: $15.00 - $24.00 per hour
