Picture this: your morning begins with a call from a high‑speed production line. You remotely diagnose an intermittent fault, guide the on‑site team through safe checks, and deploy a quick software patch. By afternoon, you’re at a customer facility partnering with Field Technicians, Production, R&D, and Back Office to evaluate a complex controls issue. Before you wrap, you document your intervention, update PLC/HMI configurations, and leave the system running better than you found it.
What you’ll do- Partner with Field Technicians to resolve hardware and software issues at customer sites, collaborating closely with Production, R&D, and Back Office for technical evaluations.
- Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software problems on installed equipment.
- Deliver both remote and on‑site technical support to customers.
- Produce detailed technical reports and service documentation after each intervention.
- Update and configure PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and related control software.
- Install software updates and patches on existing systems.
- Customize PLC logic and HMI interfaces to meet customer requirements.
- Strong grasp of mechatronic systems and industrial automation.
- Hands‑on experience with PLCs and hardware (Siemens essential; Rockwell, Beckhoff, or similar preferred) and with HMI interfaces.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with industrial programming languages: Ladder Diagram (LD) and Structured Control Language (SCL).
- Good knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems and industrial networks.
- Willingness to travel overnight 40%–50% across the U.S. and Canada for customer support and machine installations.
- Ability to author technical manuals, operating guides, and intervention reports.
- Experience delivering customer training on system operation and maintenance.
- Skill in maintaining internal technical documentation (schematics, software versions, configuration files).
- Technical diploma or degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Electronics, or a related field.
