A day on the waterfront
As the docks wake up and the first boats taxi out, you’ll be moving across the marina—checking buildings, walking slips, and making sure every corner is safe and shipshape. Your day blends hands-on craftsmanship with attentive caretaking of the grounds and facilities that keep the marina running smoothly.
What your day may look like- Start with walkthroughs of marina buildings, docks, and slips to spot maintenance needs, hazards, and repair opportunities.
- Tune up the landscape: mow and trim turf, control weeds, refresh plantings, and handle general cleanup to keep grounds neat and welcoming.
- Tackle light trade work—basic carpentry, plumbing fixes, painting touch-ups, and minor electrical repairs—to resolve issues before they grow.
- Operate and care for the tools of the trade: power tools, lawn equipment, maintenance gear, and utility vehicles that help you work efficiently.
- Pitch in on dock work—installation, repairs, and seasonal preparation—to keep the waterfront reliable through changing conditions.
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests and step into action for unexpected or urgent situations.
- Keep shops, storage areas, and worksites clean, orderly, and safe throughout the day.
- Follow established safety procedures and meet marina regulations in every task.
- Support broader marina operations and jump into special projects when extra hands are needed.
