Express Employment Professionals is hiring an experienced Material Handler for a leading automotive manufacturer in Detroit. This is a long-term opportunity for a dependable candidate with strong forklift experience and a background in automotive manufacturing or material handling.
Job ResponsibilitiesOperate forklifts safely to move materials, parts, and production supplies throughout the facility.
Keep production lines stocked with the necessary parts and materials to maintain continuous production.
Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
Receive, organize, and distribute incoming materials and automotive parts.
Scan inventory into the company's ERP system, preferably SAP.
Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure materials are stored in the proper locations.
Transport materials between receiving, storage, and production areas.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate material shortages to supervisors.
Follow all safety procedures and material-handling guidelines.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Assist with other warehouse and material-handling duties as needed.
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 2 years of forklift/material handling experience preferred.
Must have forklift experience.
Experience keeping production lines stocked with parts is strongly preferred.
Experience loading and unloading trucks.
Experience using scanners to track inventory.
ERP system experience required; SAP experience preferred.
Automotive manufacturing or production experience is a plus.
Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety procedures.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime when needed.
Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Ability to safely operate a forklift and move materials throughout the facility.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
Ability to perform repetitive material-handling tasks.
Competitive pay: $24.00–$24.50 per hour
1st Shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
