What your day looks like
At our Sycamore, IL facility, you’ll start your shift by reviewing the day’s work orders and blueprints, planning the best approach to craft components that meet tight tolerances. You’ll set up CNC mills and lathes, verify your offsets, and watch each cycle closely—making smart adjustments to keep every dimension on spec. Between runs, you’ll complete routine care to keep machines performing at their best, and you’ll finish by documenting inspections and collaborating with teammates on ways to improve quality and throughput. Multiple shifts are available (1st and 2nd).
What you’ll do- Configure and operate CNC equipment to manufacture precision parts to specification.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to plan machining operations.
- Monitor cycles and fine‑tune feeds, speeds, and offsets to maintain quality.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure reliable machine performance.
- Verify dimensions and finishes using calipers, micrometers, and related gauges.
- Partner with team members to streamline processes and boost productivity.
- Keep the work area orderly and safe, following all established safety practices.
- High school diploma or GED; CNC machining certification preferred.
- Hands‑on experience as a CNC machine operator or in a closely related role.
- Solid knowledge of CNC mills and lathes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Clear communicator who thrives in a collaborative team environment.
