A day in this role
Based in Clearwater, FL, you will be the first line of defense for product quality as shipments of electronic components, electro-mechanical parts, wiring assemblies, and related materials arrive. Your day starts by reviewing drawings, work instructions, specifications, and BOMs, then performing hands-on inspections using measurement tools. You’ll record results on a computer (including Microsoft Office), flag nonconformances, and partner with production to drive corrective actions. Throughout the day, you’ll help refine procedures, coach teammates on best practices, take part in audits, and keep an ESD-safe, clean, and organized area that safeguards product integrity.
What you’ll handle- Inspect incoming electronic components, electro-mechanical items, wiring assemblies, and materials against established standards.
- Monitor processing steps to spot and report variances from specifications.
- Document findings clearly and collaborate with production to implement timely corrective actions.
- Run routine tests and take precise measurements to validate performance and quality.
- Contribute to creating and improving quality control procedures and protocols.
- Support and train team members on quality expectations and proven practices.
- Participate in scheduled quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a tidy, organized, and ESD-conscious work environment.
- High school diploma or GED; coursework in quality or a related field is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in quality control or materials processing within manufacturing.
- Exceptional attention to detail with solid analytical problem-solving.
- Clear communicator and collaborative teammate.
- Working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with electronic components, cables, connectors, wiring harnesses, PCBs, or electro-mechanical assemblies is preferred.
- Able to interpret basic drawings, work instructions, specifications, and BOMs.
- Comfortable using inspection tools, measurement devices, and basic computer apps for documentation and reporting.
- Thrives in a fast-paced setting while juggling multiple priorities.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
