In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for conducting structured, desk based audits of workforce records across multiple U.S. states and Canadian provinces to assess compliance with applicable employment laws and internal company policies. This role focuses on evaluating HR documentation and processes, identifying compliance risks, and producing clear, actionable audit reports. The Auditor works collaboratively with internal stakeholders to support timely corrective actions and process improvements, emphasizing education, consistency, and risk reduction rather than discipline. This position plays a key role in supporting the organization’s compliance obligations as a multi jurisdictional employer.

Your duties will include reviewing records, assessing compliance, and preparing audit result reports.
This position sits within our Oklahoma City based corporate office, currently with an expectation to be onsite 80% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Conduct systematic audits of HR and workforce records, including but not limited to personnel files, onboarding documentation, policy acknowledgments, training records, and required employment notices.
- Assess compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local employment laws, as well as company policies and operational standards.
- Utilize standardized audit tools, checklists, and methodologies to ensure consistent and repeatable audit outcomes.
- Track and document audit results, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings to management teams.
- Stay current with changes in employment verification laws and regulations across the U.S. and Canada.
- Assist in developing and implementing corrective actions and process improvements based on audit outcomes.
- Perform other related duties in support of the Compliance Audit Program as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
- 3 years of experience in HR compliance, HR auditing, employment law, or related regulatory review work preferred.
- Experience working with multiple states or cross border (U.S. and Canada) employment requirements strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with structured audit methodologies or compliance review frameworks is a plus.
- Working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze and synthesize complex information.
- Excellent written communication skills, particularly in preparing audit reports and compliance summaries.
- Ability to apply policies and legal requirements consistently across varied jurisdictions.
- Professional judgment and discretion when handling sensitive employee and company information.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple audits and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic document management systems.
- Ability to work independently in a desk based, no travel audit role, while collaborating effectively with cross functional teams.
