Duties
- Set up CNC lathe machines, including installing tooling, fixtures, and workpieces according to detailed blueprints and specifications
- Program CNC lathes using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to create precise machining instructions
- Operate CNC lathe equipment efficiently while monitoring machine performance throughout production runs
- Conduct routine inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to ensure parts meet GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards
- Perform troubleshooting on CNC machines, including Fanuc controls and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), to resolve issues quickly and minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate documentation of setup procedures, production logs, and quality control reports
- Assist with materials handling, tooling changes, and basic maintenance tasks on machinery such as press brake machines, stamping presses, and CNC milling machines
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC lathes in a manufacturing or factory setting with a strong understanding of CNC programming and setup procedures
- Proficiency with Fanuc controls, CAM programming, CAD software like SolidWorks or similar tools, and blueprint reading skills
- Mechanical knowledge of machining processes, tooling selection, fabrication techniques, and materials handling
- Familiarity with quality control tools including calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and GD&T specifications accurately
- Experience working with CNC milling machines, press brakes, stamping presses, and other fabrication equipment is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot CNC equipment issues involving PLCs or Fanuc controls
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations in machining operations
- Factory experience in a manufacturing facility that emphasizes safety protocols and efficient workflow management
