Role Description
This is a ground-floor seat for a founder-era Chief Executive Officer. To be direct about what this is and what it is not: it is not for someone who wants to spend their career inside large companies waiting for the next promotion. This is for someone who has built before, who knows what zero to one actually costs, and who wakes up every morning ready to do it again at a scale most people cannot even picture.
As co-founders, we work together, communicate at all times, and stand alongside each other. We either drop the ball together or win together. You will not be alone.
This role is strictly based in Washington, D.C. We operate with a true startup, ground-floor mindset, working closely and collaboratively in person to execute at pace.
What You Will Own
- Capital Formation: Leading the fundraise from seed through growth stages with institutional investors, family offices, and strategic partners, with full co-founder support throughout.
- Customer Acquisition: Driving growth across primary beachhead markets, including federal law enforcement, international intelligence bodies, corporate threat intelligence, and high-stakes risk sectors.
- Go-To-Market Strategy: Executing the commercial playbook, converting a technically superior platform into signed contracts and compounding revenue.
- Team Building: Recruiting a killer commercial and operational team that matches the caliber of the technical foundation already in place.
- External Representation: Acting as the primary face of the company to investors, enterprise customers, defense/intelligence stakeholders, and strategic partners.
- Operational Scale: Full P&L ownership and the operational discipline to scale without losing the startup's speed.
Qualifications
- Must be elibible for a U.S governement security clearance to support upcoming defense initiatives.
- Military or federal intelligence/law enforcement experience is highly preferred.
- Mission-Era Leadership: Serial Entrepreneur, a corporate executive, or a high-ranking military/federal leader (e.g., military or GS) with a history of leading complex missions, scaling organizations, and dealing with government ambiguity.
- Technical Fluency: You do not need to be the engineer in the room, but you must deeply understand technology, earn the team’s trust on day one, speak the language of the communities, and translate complex capabilities credibly to any audience, from an enterprise CFO to a defense program manager to a sovereign wealth fund.
- Domain Alignment: Ability to understand and communicate highly technical data products across law enforcement, humanitarian NGOs, intelligence communities, and defense-relevant applications.

Compensation
There is no base salary at this stage. This is a founder-era role in the truest sense of the word.
The CEO will receive an equal-split equity package commensurate with the standard YC founder model and the weight of what they are being asked to carry. Compensation beyond equity will be structured as part of the capital raise that the CEO helps lead. In other words, one of the first things you build is the financial foundation that pays the team, including yourself.
