What are the responsibilities and job description for the Museum Exhibit Detailer position at EXPLUS INC?
Requires construction knowledge for building museum, tradeshow and commercial exhibits including cabinetry, scenic, and faux structure drawings that incorporate metals, plastics, wood panels, lighting, audio visual and graphics.
Your drawings will show technical details, specify dimensions and materials in drawings for the production departments and client approval. Knowledge and ability to procure on site field dimensions to create drawings for building exhibits. Prepare AUTOCAD shop drawings in two-dimensional design. Create fabrication packages for client(s), in house production, and project management review. Interact with client on revisions and the shop fabricators for building.
Experience in architectural millwork or cabinetry with strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, equipment, and shop processes required.
Education: Requires A.A, B.A. or Technical/Vocational Trade School Degree in Architecture, Industrial Design or Building Science.
Experience: 2 years experience drafting detailed drawings using computer drafting software (AutoCAD 2015 to 2023).
Additional:
- Drafts detailed/working drawings for fabrication of exhibits from design sketches.
- Coordinates with Project Manager and Shop to come up with acceptable details.
- Shows dimensions, material to be used, and other information necessary to make detailed drawings clear and complete.
- Can adjust or change necessary redlines or revisions.
- Creates Bill of Materials/takeoffs for jobs.
- Works with CNC Department and fabrication personnel to coordinate construction details on projects.
- Attends project kickoff meetings to review detailed drawings
