Explus, Inc is a custom museum fabrication company in Northern Virginia that houses a fully equipped production facility staffed with approximately 60 experienced, skilled technicians, talented artisans, and craftsmen. Explus offers a full range of in-house museum exhibit fabrication services including Project Management, Detailing, Scenic & Art Production, Exhibit Fabrication, Audio-Visual Systems Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Interactive Production, Artifact Mounting, and Exhibit Shipping & Installation. Our firm currently maintains a well-equipped metalworking department, full digital and traditional graphic capabilities, direct printing, nationally recognized artifact mounting, lighting and security specialists, electromechanical interactive technicians, in addition to its very experienced cadre of cabinetmakers and installation crews.

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Finisher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in blueprint reading, remodeling, plastering, building, and other related tasks. If you are detail-oriented and take pride in delivering high-quality work, we want to hear from you.
Duties:
- Prepare surfaces for painting such as scraping, sanding, and filling holes
- Apply paint or other finishes to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, or sprayers
- Mix paints and match colors for touch-ups or new projects
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment
- Work on various projects including remodeling, restoring, and fixture installations
- Prepare materials as needed to receive finishes. Prepare all surfaces to be sprayed properly. This includes wood, bare metal and the proper sanding, feather edging of previously painted surfaces.
- Mix and apply various finishes to various types of materials.
- Check units with great care to ensure that no areas have been missed.
- Follow safety and PPE procedures.
- Proven experience as a Painter with expertise in blueprint reading and remodeling
- Knowledge of different painting techniques and tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
- Physical: Fine standing, squatting, sitting, and stooping. Must be able to see well enough to read drawings and maneuver through the shop
- Experience with spray equipment, great attention to detail, understand use of of lacquer thinner and other solvents, experience with color mixing and matching.
- Familiarity with schematics and fixture installation is advantageous
- Meet project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Timeliness and dependability regarding project assignment.
- Attendance and punctuality.
- Meet product quality standards.
