Duties
- Stock shelves efficiently by organizing products, ensuring accurate placement and proper merchandising to enhance store presentation.
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card payments.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions about products, and assisting with product demos when needed.
- Upsell additional items or promotions to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction through effective communication skills.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, handle cash drawer operations, and perform basic math calculations for transactions.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels, restocking shelves, and participating in periodic stock counts.
- Support merchandising efforts by setting up displays and ensuring store product knowledge is up-to-date for better customer engagement.
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cash register operations in a retail or grocery store environment.
- Supervising experience or leadership skills to guide team members during busy shifts.
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions, discounts, and inventory counts.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear information and excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers remotely or over the phone.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively.
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and grocery store operations enhances customer interactions.
- Experience conducting product demos and upselling techniques to boost sales performance.
- Familiarity with retail sales processes including retail sales transactions, cash handling procedures, and cash drawer management.
