Position Summary: The IC Assistant is responsible for assisting the lead teacher and supervising children during hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30PM. This role involves ensuring a safe, calm, and engaging environment for children, assisting with cleanup of play and activity areas, and helping with the facility’s closing procedures. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and can help maintain a tidy, organized space at the end of the day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Child Supervision & Safety:
- Supervise children during activities, ensuring safety and engagement.
- Organize and assist with age-appropriate activities, encouraging positive social interactions.
- Ensure a calm and orderly transition for parents dropping off children.
- Assisting with Cleanup:
- Tidy and sanitize play and activity areas, returning toys and materials to their proper places.
- Assist with cleaning tables, floors, and high-touch surfaces in the classroom and common areas.
- Help organize supplies and prepare the space for the next day.
- Facility Closing Procedures:
- Assist with end-of-day tasks, such as securing toys and supplies, and ensuring the lead teacher doesn’t need anything else before leaving.
- Communication & Teamwork:
- Communicate effectively with parents during drop off & pick up , providing any necessary updates on their child’s.
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and facility staff to ensure a smooth transition to aftercare and closing.
- Attend periodic trainings or meetings to stay updated on safety protocols and school policies.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience in a childcare setting is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and actively engage with children as needed.
Working Hours: This is a full time position with a set schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
Compensation: This position offers a pay range of $15 - $18per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
