About the Property
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Hotel Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a 125-room hotel property situated on a beautiful 10-acre setting minutes from the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee. This position is responsible for maintaining all building systems, guest rooms, and public spaces to ensure the highest level of safety, functionality, and guest satisfaction. Position Overview
The Hotel Maintenance Engineer reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for performing ongoing maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair tasks across the property. This position requires a hands-on, detail-oriented professional who can respond quickly to guest and operational needs while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance and repair of guest rooms, public areas, and facility systems
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance inspections of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Diagnose and resolve minor electrical, plumbing, and equipment issues
- Maintain pool, mechanical rooms, and exterior areas in accordance with property standards
- Record all work orders, repairs, and maintenance activities in the hotel's internal ticket tracking software
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and assist with after-hours emergencies as needed
- Ensure all work complies with safety, health, and operational regulations
- Support landscaping and property upkeep as needed
Qualifications
- Prior maintenance experience in a hotel or similar property environment preferred
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repair practices
- Ability to read technical manuals and follow safety procedures
- Certifications preferred: HVAC, EPA, or Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, typically a 5-day workweek with weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation
