Automotive Master Technician
ExperTec Automotive has been delivering exceptional automotive repair and customer service since 1993. With multiple locations and a long-standing reputation for quality, honesty, and professionalism, we are looking for a highly skilled Automotive Master Technician to join our team.
We are seeking an experienced technician who takes pride in accurate diagnostics, high-quality repairs, and working efficiently in a professional shop environment. This position is ideal for a true Master Technician with strong diagnostic ability, full ASE credentials, and California Smog Test & Repair certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles.
- Diagnose complex electrical, drivability, engine performance, emissions, and mechanical concerns.
- Use professional scan tools, diagnostic equipment, electrical schematics, and service information to accurately identify vehicle issues.
- Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, powertrain systems, brakes, suspension, steering, alignments, HVAC, and other major vehicle systems.
- Perform California smog-related diagnostics, inspections, and repairs in compliance with state requirements.
- Diagnose and repair ADAS components, sensors, cameras, and related safety systems.
- Complete maintenance services including oil changes, fluid services, brakes, tires, alignments, and inspections when needed.
- Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Communicate clearly with service advisors regarding diagnostic findings, repair recommendations, and vehicle status.
- Help maintain ExperTec Automotive’s reputation for exceptional service and quality repairs.
Requirements
- Must be a highly experienced Automotive Master Technician.
- Must have all required ASE certifications for Master Technician status.
- ASE Master Automobile Technician certification strongly required.
- California Smog Check Inspector and Smog Check Repair Technician certification required.
- Strong diagnostic skills, especially in electrical systems, drivability, emissions, and check engine light concerns.
- Experience with domestic, Asian, and European vehicles preferred.
- Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, schematics, scan tools, and diagnostic procedures.
- Experience with ADAS systems, alignments, powertrain repairs, brakes, suspension, and general repair.
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Must have your own professional tools.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and pride in workmanship.
- Professional attitude and good communication skills.
- Dealership or high-level independent shop experience preferred.
