Position Summary
The Pre-ETS Instructor plans and delivers curriculum for Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) and provides direct instruction and support to Participants ages 16 to 24. This position works varying hours across the day and week, including school-day instruction, afternoon community-based engagement, and occasional weekend events, and requires regular travel between school sites and community locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and develop curriculum for Pre-ETS programming aligned with the five required Pre-ETS service areas.
- Deliver instruction and facilitate group and individual sessions with Participants in school settings.
- Travel to assigned schools to meet with Participants and coordinate with school staff.
- Build and maintain relationships with school staff, families, and community partners to support Participant engagement.
- Track Participant attendance, progress, and outcomes, and maintain accurate service documentation.
- Adjust curriculum and instructional approach based on Participant needs and program requirements.
Schedule and Travel Requirements
Work hours vary by day and may include mornings in school settings, afternoons in the community, and occasional weekend events or activities. This position requires a reliable vehicle, a valid driver's license, and current auto insurance to travel between schools and community sites.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, vocational rehabilitation, social work, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Special Education teaching license or certification, or equivalent experience working with students with disabilities.
- Experience working with youth ages 16 to 24, preferably in an educational or vocational setting.
- Comfort with curriculum development and group facilitation.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with schools and community partners.
- Ability to pass required background checks for school-based work.
Work Environment
Work is performed across school buildings, community locations, and program office space. This role requires frequent movement between sites and the physical ability to accompany Participants during community and volunteer activities.
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
