Project Engineer

Job Description

Expert Technical is seeking a Project Engineer for a growing engineering firm primarily focusing on developing senior-level civil and site design skills, and project management. The role supports the engineering team in master planning, design, and research tasks. The Project Engineer must continuously refine drafting and design to assist engineers and project managers with project analysis, while actively leading team in plan presentation, design reliability, project scopes, and delivery timelines.

DAY-TO-DAY: This role focuses on technical capabilities in civil design projects. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing CAD base sheet drawings from surveyor files.
• Preparing civil plan sheet sets for construction drawings.
• Perform calculations, pipe design calculations, and engineering reports.
• Assist in QA/QC reviews.
• Prepare comment response letters for submittals.
• May need to assist in construction observations, field reports, coordinate with outside consultants and attend pre-construction meetings.
  
  
  

What You’ll Need

• 4 years of experience in Civil design.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Proficiency in lifecycle project management for at least 1 civil design project.
• Ability to prepare construction documents with assistance from civil engineering staff.
• Ability to perform QA/QC reviews.
• Ability to mentor and lead civil designers, technicians and interns.
