This inspector will sit in Wilmington, NC with daily travel to sites within 50 miles of office.
Day-to-day
This role focuses on technical capabilities in water infrastructure projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Act as a liaison between contractors, the design team, and owners.
- Review construction documents, create daily and periodic field reports, and review reports from others.
- Coordinate field surveys and material testing and witness acceptance tests and equipment startups.
- Address and resolve issues promptly during construction with the appropriate teams.
- Schedule and document substantial and final completion inspections, including punch lists.
- Review redlines for record drawings and process closeout documents, warranties, and final payments.
- 5-15 years’ experience in construction engineering
- Willing and able to climb ladders, routinely travel and traverse uneven, unpaved terrain and work outside for extended periods of time on construction sites.
- Able to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
- Able to communicate with engineers, contractors and owners in an effective, professional manner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, and either Adobe Acrobat or BlueBeam Revu.
- Willing to work nights, weekends and/or overtime if required.
