Position: Maintenance TechnicianLocation: Vista, CAPay: $28.00–$32.00 per hourShift: 2nd Shift Weekends — Thursday to Sunday, 5:00 PM to 3:30 AMBonus: HVAC experience is a strong plusPosition SummaryExpert Staffing West is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support equipment reliability, product quality, and food safety at an industrial food manufacturing facility. This hands-on role is essential to maintaining the performance and safety of key production equipment and facility systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, excellent troubleshooting ability, and experience working in regulated environments.Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and repair a wide range of industrial food production and packaging equipment, including:Pumps, motors, conveyors, low-pressure boilers, air compressors, chillers, dehydrators, mills, blenders, labelers, heat sealers, blowers, warehouse dock doors, and cartsDiagnose and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsPerform preventive maintenance and routine inspections in line with established schedulesCalibrate and maintain instruments such as:Temperature gauges, thermocouples, pressure gauges, flowmeters, and scales, following the facility’s calibration planUse a web-based Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document maintenance activity and close out work ordersCommunicate technical findings clearly with operations, quality, engineering, and leadership teamsAssist with the design, fabrication, or assembly of mechanical components for equipment improvements or modificationsMaintain compliance with all applicable GFSI, HACCP, and GMP standardsWork collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement projectsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentSupport emergency repairs or unplanned maintenance needs; overtime may be requiredWelding experience is beneficial Requirements2–5 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing, industrial, or regulated production environmentProven hands-on troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsFamiliarity with GFSI, HACCP, and GMP practices is strongly preferredExperience with low-pressure boilers, chillers, and packaging line equipment is highly desirableHVAC experience is a strong advantageBasic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and maintenance tracking systems (CMMS)High school diploma or GED required; trade school certification or engineering coursework is a plusAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
