What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plumbing Estimator position at Expert Plumbing, Inc.?
Plumbing Estimator Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspect plans and specifications of projects for bidding purposes.
- During the bid process, review all plans, specifications and prepare RFIs to General Contractor.
- Takeoff quantity (fixtures, specialties, equipment, etc).
- Read plumbing plan notes, material specifications, special requirements for the project to account in budget/estimate.
- Request pricing from suppliers for materials and fixtures, specialties, equipment, etc). as specified in plumbing plan schedules.
- Review labor and materials pricing for accurateness.
- Provide project estimates (using excel spreadsheets and estimating software)
- Review estimates in general for completeness involving requested work or required per drawings prior to sending to clients.
Plumbing Estimator Requirements:
- Three years minimum of related experience in the plumbing estimating process.
- High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
- Education from college/university or trade school.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Reliable, detailed oriented, highly organized, and capable of handling several tasks.
- Recognize a thorough understanding of the plumbing industry and plumbing codes.
- Efficient management skills to improve the productivity of teams and work standards.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
