What are the responsibilities and job description for the HOMECARE BILLING AND PAYROLL position at Expert Home Care Inc.?
Expert Home Care is looking to bring on a new member to our Finance Department team as an experienced Homecare Billing & Payroll Specialist. The right candidate will possess a combination of the following experience, qualifications, and skills:
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with billing in a Home Care or other care provider setting.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience running and executing payroll for a medium-large health care company (500-1000 employees) for both direct care and administrative staff.
- Collections experience not required but definitely a plus.
Experience:
- Knowledge of insurance and billing portals (i.e Payspan, Avility, SDS, Availaity etc.)
- Solid understanding of internal management systems for HMS and Payroll (i.e HHAeXchange, Viventium, ADP, etc.)
- Ability to interpret and navigate CMS DX codes, CPT Codes, MLTC PCA/HHA Codes Denials Codes, etc.
- General understanding of FMLA regulations, as well as NYS/NYC regulations regarding compensation (i.e wages, wage parity, benefits, etc.) within the homecare industry.
- Knowledge of running weekly payrolls for office employees and caregivers in viventium including all PTO and WAge Parity compliance requirements
Skills:
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Ability to think critically and problem solve
- Comfortable running, navigating, sending, and interpreting various reports from HMS software
- Competent with Microsoft OS/Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Able to work independently with general instruction and expectations
- Spanish/English speaking is a huge plus but not a requirement
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and ensure payments are being made in accordance with the terms of the contract.
- Verify that rates billed are in accordance with contractual terms ie. diagnoses codes, CPT
- Collection and follow up on all outstanding contracts.
- Correct any billing issues making any necessary adjustments, while communicating these changes to the contract and filing appeals when necessary.
- Correct system issues pertaining to billing, patients and or caregivers as directed by management.
Salary will be commensurate with candidate's experience.
