Our client, a pinnacle‑level professional motorsports organization, is seeking a Tire‑Vehicle Performance Engineer II to join their team. As a Tire‑Vehicle Performance Engineer II, you will be part of the Race Engineering & Vehicle Performance Department, supporting tire development, vehicle dynamics, simulation, and race operations teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, technical leadership, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure in fast‑paced, competitive environments.

Job Title: Tire-Vehicle Performance Engineer II

Location: Santa Clarita, CA

Pay Range: 43$ - 58$ per hour

What’s the Job?

• Optimize race car design and setup configurations through measurement, modeling, and analysis of the tire‑vehicle system
• Provide expert guidance to race engineering teams on tire utilization and its impact on overall vehicle performance
• Lead development, calibration, and validation of advanced tire models using simulation, rig testing, and real‑world data
• Plan and execute tire rig, vehicle test, and Driver‑In‑Loop (DIL) simulator activities
• Deliver clear analysis, reporting, and actionable performance insights to support holistic vehicle optimization
  
  
  

What’s Needed?

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years of experience in professional motorsports
• Proven expertise in vehicle dynamics simulation, tire and chassis systems, and limit‑handling performance
• Strong proficiency in MATLAB, Python, statistical analysis, and machine learning for non‑linear regression
• Experience with tire model development, simulation correlation, and design of experiments (DOE)
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and communicate complex concepts clearly across teams
