SUMMARY
Performs all aspects of general maintenance duties within the organization, on EAA grounds and affiliated buildings working under general supervision. Works closely with set up and tear down of hosted events. This position is a full-time, seasonal role (May – September).
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for general maintenance duties for all EAA buildings and grounds.
- Responsible for operation of various types of equipment; machinery, and vehicles of all types, to perform maintenance duties.
- Maintain EAA grounds (i.e., cutting grass, raking leaves, tree trimming).
- General cleanup of vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds as directed.
- Perform various painting projects.
- Perform various concrete work and asphalt repair.
- Load and unload vehicles and equipment.
- Assistance with construction projects as needed.
- Service bathroom/shower facilities as needed.
- Assist with event set up and takedown during AirVenture and other special events throughout the summer.
- Perform minor repairs of buildings and building contents.
- Embrace and support the EAA mission and perform safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.
- All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Ability to perform manual labor, lift up to 75 lbs., standing or sitting for extended periods of time, bending, and working above ground or on irregular surfaces.
- Work involves exposure to changing elements, such as warm or cold temperatures, dirt, dust, odors, and/or elevated noise levels.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends.
- Core schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm.
- Weekend hours are Saturday, 7:30am-4pm, Sunday, 7:30am-Noon.
- Must be at least age 16.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of operations of loaders, tractors, forklifts and related maintenance equipment.
- A CDL is a plus.

- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge/ability to follow all safety rules and regulations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to perform manual labor, lift up to 75 lbs occasionally, standing and walking for extended periods of time while bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, push and pull motions. Work above ground on irregular surfaces. May have exposure to outside weather elements, noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, pesticides, and/or fertilizers.
