This position is a true Tournant and will require morning and evening availability. Primarily this position will focus on full scale preparation and menu(s) mise en place needs, full line shifts are also prerequisite. Additional requirements: proficient knife skills, to include protein fabrication, familiarity with classical mother sauces and derivatives, understanding of multiple cooking techniques and food safety.
The Prep Cook will be responsible for supporting kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, assisting with basic food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring that food storage areas are clean and organized. The Prep Cook works under the direction of the Lead Line Cook or Director of Culinary Services to help ensure that meals are prepared efficiently and according to established standards.

Responsibilities:
- Provide a high level of culinary customer service and promote a fine dining experience
- Prepares ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and measuring
- Assists in basic cooking tasks such as mixing, assembling, and portioning ingredients
- Ensures that all food is prepared and stored according to Company standards and food safety regulations
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Labels, dates, and stores food properly to maintain freshness and prevent waste
- Assists cooks and kitchen staff with food preparation as directed
- Follows cleaning schedules to ensure kitchen and food storage areas are kept clean
- Assists with receiving, storing, and organizing incoming food and supplies
- Keeps kitchen floors clean and trash emptied regularly
- Attends pre-meal stand-ups when required
- Reports any food shortages, equipment issues, or safety concerns to supervisors
- May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of kitchen experience is preferred particularly in a hospitality or healthcare setting.
- Food handlers permit as required by state law and/or Company standards
- Ability to read and follow recipes, production guides, and cleaning schedules
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Connect and help residents transition from home to community through thoughtful engagement at every level of interaction
- Ability to work well with other kitchen staff and take direction
- Dedicated to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food preparation
- Focused and able to manage multiple prep tasks efficiently
- Demonstrates safe and sanitary food handling practices
- Operates kitchen equipment in a safe and clean manner
- Ability to work varied schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
