Job Description
The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is currently hiring for temporary/on-call Cooks for Retail Dining (Chick-fil-A, Modern Market) in our Campus Dining department. The UOES division oversees the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions, while also supporting student life, academic initiatives, research activities, and annual milestone celebrations.
Cook 1
As a Cook 1 you will play an integral role in delivering outstanding service and creating a welcoming environment for all guests. Your contributions will support the vibrant and dynamic atmosphere that defines the University of Notre Dame. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a high-energy, customer-focused operation on one of the nation’s most iconic campuses.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, assemble, and present food safely, quickly and efficiently, meeting company standards
- Be knowledgeable of the assignments for all kitchen stations, including fries, breading, assembling, boards, and food prep
- Stock kitchen inventory as needed
- Keep the kitchen neat, clean and orderly at all times
- Work safely around kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues
Qualifications
- Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours at a time).
- Ability to move, lift and handle equipment, supplies and other objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to position self to move items weighing up to 25 pounds from floor to shelves and cabinets above and below counter height
- Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products
Pay Rate: $17.50/hr
