Summary
Bristol, opening soon in Bridge Park, is hiring barbacks to join our opening team. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, high-volume bar environments and enjoy supporting bartenders to keep service running smoothly. Barbacks at Bristol play a major role in maintaining speed, organization, and bar readiness during peak hours and late-night rushes.
Experience in high-volume bars or nightclubs is strongly preferred, along with strong work ethic, communication skills, and the ability to stay composed under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Support bartenders by restocking liquor, beer, wine, ice, garnishes, glassware, and supplies throughout the shift.
- Maintain clean and organized bar stations, wiping surfaces, removing trash, and keeping backup product prepped.
- Assist with keg changes, juice production, and batch cocktail prep when assigned.
- Ensure ice wells stay full, dish bins get emptied, and glassware returns quickly during high-volume service.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate needs to bartenders or management to avoid running out of key items.
- Help maintain back-of-bar organization, walk-in stocking, and cleanliness standards.
- Reset the bar between waves and complete all closing tasks assigned by bartenders or management.
- Support bartenders with barback-specific Steps of Service to keep the bar flowing efficiently.
- Assist with basic guest needs, such as providing water or helping locate a bartender, while staying focused on back-of-bar duties.
Upselling & Guest Experience
(While barbacks do not directly sell, they directly support guest experience by ensuring:)
- Fast drink delivery through well-stocked, organized bar stations.
- Clean, professional bar presentation at all times.
- Quick responses to bar team needs during rushes.
Requirements
- Previous barback or high-volume bar/club experience is preferred.
- Strong work ethic, urgency, and the ability to anticipate needs without constant direction.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items such as kegs, cases, and ice buckets.
- Ability to multitask and stay composed during peak late-night service.
- Works well in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
- Basic understanding of bar tools, products, and sanitation practices.
- Reliable transportation and availability, including weekends and late nights.
