Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Basement Waterproofing Technician to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, installing, and repairing waterproofing systems in residential and commercial basements to prevent water intrusion and damage. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of basement structures to identify water intrusion issues and assess waterproofing needs.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying primers or sealants as required before waterproofing application.
- Install waterproofing membranes, coatings, drainage systems, sump pumps, and related components with precision and care.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and fabrication techniques to complete projects efficiently and safely.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation according to specifications.
- Perform repairs or restorations on existing waterproofing systems to extend their lifespan and improve effectiveness.
- Maintain a clean work environment by following safety protocols and properly handling materials such as caulking, plastering compounds, masonry supplies, and sealants.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction site work with knowledge of waterproofing methods preferred.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, concrete forming, masonry, carpentry (including trim carpentry), roofing, drywall installation (including plastering), tile laying, flooring installation, welding, restoration work, glass installation, fixture installation, framing carpentry, door hanging, painting (including construction painting), concrete finishing, masonry work, heavy equipment operation, and related trades is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in various construction environments.
- Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems relevant to basement waterproofing is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed schematics and technical instructions accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with a proactive attitude toward safety and quality standards.
