What You'll Do
- Provide practical legal guidance to leaders across the organization on a variety of business and legal matters
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements and other legal documents
- Support corporate governance activities, strategic initiatives, and business transactions
- Partner with leaders to identify and mitigate enterprise legal and regulatory risk
- Provide legal support for regulatory compliance initiatives and corporate policies
- Assist with litigation management, regulatory inquiries, and other legal matters
- Conduct legal research and communicate complex legal concepts in a practical, business-focused manner
- Improve legal department processes, workflows, and operational efficiencies
- Build strong cross-functional relationships while serving as a trusted legal advisor
- Assume responsibility for legal department operations in the General Counsel's absence
- ECG's lending products, operations, and business strategy

Required Experience
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership in good standing
- Minimum of three years of legal experience within the financial services industry or advising financial services organizations
- Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent legal writing, negotiation, and communication abilities
- Ability to interpret complex legal issues and communicate practical business solutions
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across business functions
- Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, confidentiality, and integrity
