What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metal Fabrication Shop Foreman position at Expanded Metal Works?
THIS IS A JOB SHOP, NOT A PRODUCTION FACILITY. THIS UNIQUE POSITION REQUIRES THE ABILITY TO WELD WITHIN THE SHOP, AT JOB SITES, OVERSEE INSTALLATIONS, AND OTHER VARIOUS CAPACITIES; AND GENERAL CONSTRUCTION KNOWLEDGE IS A MUST. TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM JOB SITES IS PROVIDED. THIS IS NOT A POSITION THAT HAS THE FOREMAN WORKING WITHIN THE SHOP ALL OF THE TIME.

Responsibilities:
-Lead daily production, manage shop personnel, and ensures projects are completed safely, accurately, and on time
-Bridge the gap between management and the fabrication team, overseeing everything from blueprint reading and quality control to equipment maintenance and workflow optimization
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine project specifications
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery to fabricate metal components
- Use a forklift to move materials and equipment as needed
- Rig and assemble metal structures according to project requirements
- Perform welding tasks using various techniques, experience required with Tig and Mig welding, Aluminum, Steel and Stainless
- Experience with metal brake required
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Metal Fabricator and Foreman (2 years experience required)
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints
- Strong knowledge of different types of metal fabrication techniques
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery effectively
- Familiarity with metal fabrication processes
- Experience with rigging and using forklifts is required
- Skilled in welding techniques, 6 years experience as welder
- Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work
- Ability to clearly communicate with co-workers and keep them on-task
Shop Hours are 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday, with an occasional Friday
Pay $28.00 - $30.00, DOE, paid time off, sick time, and holiday pay
