In this role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality coatings to various products, ensuring they meet strict industry standards and customer specifications. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces through construction painting surface preparation and materials handling to ensure optimal coating adhesion and finish quality
- Operate spray guns, including conventional spraying and powder coating equipment, with precision and consistency
- Use hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment to assemble parts and prepare surfaces for coating applications
- Interpret production documents such as work orders, technical drawings, and quality standards to execute tasks accurately
- Apply coatings using industrial painting techniques while adhering to safety protocols and PPE requirements, including respirators and respiratory protection gear
- Conduct visual color comparisons and inspect finished surfaces for defects or inconsistencies, maintaining high-quality standards in production
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to lean manufacturing principles and safety procedures such as PPE use and crane operation when handling materials or equipment
Requirements
- Proven experience with powder coating, industrial painting, or auto painting processes in a manufacturing or construction setting
- Mechanical knowledge related to coating equipment, spray guns, hand tools, power tools, and machining operations
- Ability to interpret production documents accurately and follow detailed instructions closely
- Familiarity with quality standards in production environments and the ability to perform visual inspections against color charts and finish criteria
- Competence in using precision measuring instruments for surface preparation and coating thickness verification
- Warehouse experience or materials handling skills are preferred for efficient workflow management
- Strong adherence to safety protocols including PPE use, respirator fitting, fall protection measures, and proper handling of hazardous materials
Hourly pay $20.00 to $28.00 DOE, some paid time off.
Shop hours of operation are Monday through Thursday 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
