Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to foster loyalty and repeat business
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions including sales, returns, and exchanges
• Assist customers with product demos, explaining features and benefits to enhance their shopping experience
• Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure products are stocked neatly on shelves
• Handle cash, process payments, and perform cash handling duties with accuracy and integrity
• Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending additional items to increase sales
• Manage inventory by stocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and organizing backstock efficiently
• Communicate clearly with team members regarding store operations, customer inquiries, and product information
• Demonstrate phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries
• Support grocery or retail store operations by adhering to safety standards and maintaining cleanliness (Sweeping/Mopping and shelf cleaning).

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a positive attitude are essential
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively
• Strong communication skills to engage confidently with customers and team members
• Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and upselling techniques is advantageous
• Experience supervising or mentoring others is a bonus but not mandatory; leadership qualities are valued
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours including weekends or evenings
• Knowledge of grocery store operations or merchandising practices is beneficial

Pay: $13.00 - $13.75 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
