Manufacturing Supervisor – Sturbridge, MA (NV)
Main mission
The Manufacturing Supervisor leads high-precision assembly and vacuum processing teams for Generation 4G image intensifier tubes. You will bridge the gap between U.S. operations and our European centre of excellence in France and the Netherlands, overseeing the implementation of new manufacturing technologies and ensuring global production alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Leadership:
- Oversee daily shift operations for cleanroom assembly, photocathode processing, and optical testing.
- New Implementation Strategy:
- Lead the rollout of new manufacturing lines, coordinating the "Tech Transfer" of high-performance imaging processes from European partners to domestic facilities.
- Global Quality Alignment:
- Ensure all output meets both U.S. military specs and European 4G/4G standards for NATO-grade performance.
- Process Engineering Liaison:
- Partner with engineering teams in Brive (France) and Roden (Netherlands) to harmonize Lean manufacturing workflows and reduce global scrap rates.
- Team Development:
- Train local staff on specialized European manufacturing techniques and high-vacuum system maintenance.
- During project phase, ability to travel internationally up to 25% for site audits, training, and equipment validation at French and Dutch facilities.
- Must maintain a valid passport (minimum 6 months validity) and meet ETIAS authorization requirements for entry into the Schengen Area.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- 5 years in optoelectronics or semiconductor manufacturing, with 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Deep familiarity with vacuum physics, thin-film deposition, or image intensifier tube (IIT) chemistry.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Communication:
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills; ability to manage remote reporting lines and international stakeholders.

- Implementation Milestone Achievement: Successful startup of new production cells on schedule.
- Global First Pass Yield (FPY): Alignment of domestic yield rates with European benchmarks.
- Operational Consistency: Ensuring 24/7 production stability across multi-site initiatives.
