About the Role
This is primarily a field position based out of our Thousand Oaks office, operating and maintaining community water systems throughout Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles Counties. You'll spend most of your time visiting client sites, performing operational duties, collecting samples, ensuring regulatory compliance, and helping our clients provide safe, reliable drinking water. You'll work independently on many systems while also collaborating with our team on larger projects and water systems.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain community water systems in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Perform routine inspections of wells, booster stations, reservoirs, treatment systems, and other water facilities
- Collect water quality samples and deliver them to certified laboratories
- Conduct required water quality testing and monitoring
- Complete operational logs, reports, and compliance documentation
- Respond to operational issues and troubleshoot equipment when needed
- Coordinate with clients, laboratories, and regulatory agencies
- Drive between client sites throughout Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles Counties
- Occasionally travel throughout California, including overnight travel when required
- Work independently while supporting team operations on larger water systems
Qualifications
Required
- California D3 or T3 Water Operator Certification
- Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your schedule
- Comfortable using computers and mobile technology for reporting and documentation
Preferred
- Additional California water or wastewater certifications
- Cross Connection Control Specialist certification
- Experience operating community water systems
- Experience with regulatory compliance and reporting
Schedule
Full Time
Monday through Friday
Typical hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Flexible scheduling when appropriate
Occasional evening, weekend, or emergency response may be required depending on operational needs
