Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive addiction counseling and mental health support to individuals struggling with substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and related behavioral challenges. Your expertise will help clients achieve recovery goals through evidence-based practices, personalized treatment plans, and empathetic client engagement. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments for new clients to evaluate needs and establish appropriate services.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and client goals.
- Provide ongoing individual therapy sessions and monitor client progress.
- Facilitate group counseling sessions as appropriate.
- Refer clients to appropriate community resources and specialized providers when indicated.
- Review, evaluate, and modify treatment plans as clinically necessary.
- Complete accurate and timely progress notes in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
- Review and update treatment plans for assigned clients on a monthly basis.
- Document all client interactions, assessments, and services provided in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Attend and actively participate in weekly staff meetings and clinical case reviews.
- Maintain required professional licensure and certifications through ongoing continuing education and training.
- Comply with all applicable HIPAA regulations and agency policies regarding confidentiality and privacy.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Experience
- State licensure in Addiction (ADT, CADC, CAC-AD, CSC)
- Proven experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, including those with co-occurring mental health conditions such as PTSD or behavioral health issues.
- Exhibits compassion, empathy, and respect for individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
- Demonstrated proficiency in psychotherapy modalities such as motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and evidence-based addiction counseling techniques
- Familiarity with crisis intervention, crisis management, and client assessment in therapy settings within hospital or community care environments
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical documentation standards, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical records management within EMR/EHR systems
- Experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds to deliver culturally competent mental health and behavioral care services
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive medical records

*$6,000 sign-on bonus will be paid in quarterly installments of $1,500 every three months, contingent upon continued, in good standing employment.
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
