CLASSIFICATION: CustodianGrade 1: Starts at $ 22.59/hr.School Location: TBDShift: TBDREPORTS TO: Director of Facilities POSITION SUMMARY: This position performs cleaning of specified sections of school buildings within the District. This includes the cleanliness and neatness of individual classrooms and rest rooms as well as the office and corridor spaces and public meeting areas. The work is primarily independent in nature and new assignments are received in the form of oral or written instructions from the Director of Maintenance and Custodians.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Sweeps, washes walls and mirrors, mops and disinfects teacher and student lavatories, shower roomsReplenishes supplies in assigned lavatories, shower rooms and locker roomsMixes cleaning agents in accordance with manufacturers labelsUses all custodial cleaning materials in a safe and responsible mannerEmpties wastebaskets, replaces bags in wastebaskets and garbage receptacles and recycling basketsIs responsible for basic building security. This includes insuring that the building is empty prior to locking doors and setting alarms and that all lights are turned offStrips, washes and spot cleans carpetingMoves district furniture as requiredCleans windowsWashes walls, light fixtures and removes graffitiRequired to clean up after student accidents using the appropriate personal safety equipmentOperate buffers, burnishes and auto scrubbing machinesInventories custodial supplies and keeps the Director of Maintenance and custodians informed as to usage and the need to reorderDelivers/moves supplies, materials, mail, lunches etc.
