Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs, ensuring compliance with special education laws and regulations.
• Deliver engaging, evidence-based instruction across core subjects such as literacy, math, social skills, and life skills, utilizing curriculum development expertise.
• Incorporate educational technology and learning tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
• Utilize behavioral therapy techniques, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and behavior management strategies to support positive behaviors and social interactions.
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, parents, and support staff to coordinate instructional modifications and ensure consistency across environments.
• Conduct assessments, monitor progress regularly, and adjust instructional approaches accordingly to maximize student success.
• Facilitate communication with families through regular updates, meetings, and documentation to foster strong home-school partnerships.

Experience

• Demonstrated experience working with children with disabilities, particularly those on the autism spectrum or with developmental delays.
• Proven ability to develop and adapt curriculum for diverse learners using instructional design principles.
• Knowledge of special education law (such as IDEA), IEP development process, and educational compliance standards.
• Skilled in classroom management and behavior management techniques tailored for students with special needs.
• Experience integrating speech therapy, music therapy, recreational therapy or other therapeutic modalities into classroom activities is a plus.
• Familiarity with assistive technologies, educational software, and digital learning platforms for special education settings.
• Prior private school experience or early intervention work is advantageous but not required; enthusiasm for ongoing professional development is essential.
