Health Office Assistant
Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the nurse and administration, to assist with students in the Health Office, complete daily school attendance, and to free certified professional employees from non-professional duties to enable them to make a contribution to other aspects of the educational program, such as curriculum development.
Essential Job Functions
- Record student visits to the nurse's office into a daily log.
- Assists with daily attendance calls and record-keeping.
- Assists with the copying and distribution of documents and other materials (e.g., correspondence, bulletins, reports).
- Assists in maintaining documents, files and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference.
- Assists with answering telephone calls, and provide information and assistance to callers.
- Assists in maintaining inventories of supplies and materials for the purpose of ensuring items' availability.
- Assists in supervising and managing students in non-classroom activities such as start / end of day duty (i.e. bus duty at dismissal).
Additional Duties
Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
- Work in standard office and school building environments.
- Ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities.

Qualifications Profile
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Prior successful clerical experience preferred.
