Requirements
- High School or GED
- Answers all incoming, both external and internal, through the telephone switchboard system, along with assistance phones, code phone, security and after-hours engineering calls.
- Answers for physician’s after-hours, which also entails taking urgent callers info and paging out to correct people.
- Monitors security cameras
- Compiles daily on‑call schedules from numerous calendars and make updates/changes when needed.
- Dispatches inpatient transport, security and engineering.
- Pages employees and physicians as requested.
- Monitors the med gas system and troubleshoots within the hospital (smoke detector troubles, boiler alarms, chiller alarms, etc.)
- Sends out codes/emergencies (rapid response, blue, white, fire activations, etc.)
- Books Endoscopy & OR cases with surgeons (evening/overnight hours during the week and through the weekend) and contact everyone that is involved in case, including contacting Anesthesia, On Call teams, and PACU, when needed.
- Assists staff in forwarding/un-forwarding their work extensions
