Discovering your exciting role
The Panel Shop Supervisor/Lead will help develop team members to assemble and wire panels and ensure quality of the product and project deadlines are met. Requires strong technical skill to read schematics, troubleshoot issues, use leadership skills to manage a team, assign them tasks, guidance and act as the main point of contact for other departments with questions.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities:
  • Ensure the team follows work instruction, procedures, and the quality standards.
  • Communicate with project management team, designers and supervisor of problems identified during production, provide technical guidance, solve problems and work with designers to address design issues.
  • Maintain positive internal customer relations.
  • Analyze data collected and storage of the data/information, track hours per project, capacity plans, labor forecasting and labor efficiency.
  • Complete timesheet approvals, PTO approvals, assign goals, corrective action, performance review and interviews
  • Ability to set department goals, find effective solutions for better work efficiency.
  • Prepare all required documents for department, work instructions and check off sheet, and support and make recommendations to improve department policies and procedures.
  • Order all electrical consumable parts.
  • Review new projects before released to the manufacturing floor.
  • Practice lean 5S and assure department adherence to all safety rules, guidelines and safe working practices.
  • Maintain UL 508A certification, with proper documentation.
  • Continue leadership training for more experience in department.
  • Other duties and related work may be assigned as necessary.
Education and/or experience
  • Associate’s degree in technical or business field with 3-5 years’ work experience in electrical testing in an electrical, utility, industrial and/or manufacturing setting or equivalent education and experience.
  • Developed leadership skills to lead teams and meet production schedule requirements.
  • General knowledge of electrical power systems and UL 508 standards.
  • General knowledge of inspection tools, instruments and equipment.
  • Developed computer skills with emphasis on MS Office and business enterprise systems for entering/retrieving data, charts/graphs and some statistical analysis.
  • Software experience with concentration in Ladder Logic PLC control and design NOT A REQUIREMENT but is a plus.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule workload.
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • Able to work on multiple tasks concurrently. Self-starter
Language skills
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, sitting, and use of hands in this support role is required
  • Specific vision abilities required to include close vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Occasionally perform physical activities including lifting (up to 50 lbs. unassisted)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Safety glasses and leather work boots are required and are always worn in the department.

The work environment characteristics include periodic noise increases when in the Manufacturing facility, although the office environment is usually quiet and respectful. Safety glasses and other required safety protection should be worn when out in the manufacturing facility, which may vary depending on the area you are working/visiting.
