Infant Mental Health Therapist - $4000 Signing Bonus

Job Summary

Provide home-based Infant Mental Health Services to strengthen the infant's development within the context of family and community. Provide infant-parent psychotherapy to families related to parental attachment issues, grief, loss, and previous trauma. Assist families in supporting the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children ages 0-6. Utilize consistent reportable procedures for assessing infants and parents and evaluating developmental progress.

Tasks / Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical assessments to determine the mental health needs of infants, young children, and their families.
  • Develop and implement a service plan built upon family needs and strengths, including regular home visits to work with infant development and parenting issues.
  • Maintain required case documentation and record delivered services in an accurate and timely manner as required by regulating entities, third-party payers, and management.
  • Case Manager to advocate for, link, and coordinate client needs with appropriate agency and community program involvement.
  • Assist families in the development of positive parent-child reciprocal interactions and attachment.
  • Facilitate the enhancement of problem-solving skills, reduction of psychological and environmental stress, and the development of social support systems.
  • Consult, at least, on a weekly basis and adhere to Infant Mental Health endorsement qualifications and licensing required supervision with Children’s Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Director of Children’s Services, and other providers for input into treatment issues.
  • Serve as member of the program treatment team in staffing new referrals and ongoing cases.
  • Participate in ongoing staff training and development programs.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement efforts as defined by accrediting or regulating entities.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all agency programs and staff and with outside entities and staff.
  • Adhere to productivity expectations, as outlined by CHC.
  • Perform other duties as defined by Children’s Services Supervisor.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • MA, MSW, IMH endorsement/waiver required, but can be obtained after hire.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license, required.
  • Flu and Covid-19 Vaccines, strongly recommended.

Competencies

  • A minimum of two years’ clinical experience with infants and families, preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective therapeutic and working relationships with clients, other staff and community/agency representatives.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including engaging clients in the therapeutic process and working as a member of a clinical team.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with community/agency representatives.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, ability to operate computer equipment.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, programs, and services, as they relate to the provision of services.
  • Working knowledge of the system-of-services needed to address the needs of children and families and the ability to coordinate care between these programs.
